The South Carolina Head Start Association works to create safe, healthy, nurturing learning environments for all children in South Carolina. Head Start is a free program for young children from low-income families. Children who participate take part in fun activities which help develop educational and social skills. They also receive nutritious meals, health care, and play in a supervised setting.

Our vision is to be the voice for children and their families in South Carolina. We strive to build first-class learning opportunities that are developmentally and culturally relevant for all South Carolina children.
