SCACAP kicked off its Poverty Webinar Series “Poverty at the Forefront!” in May 2022,
recognizing Community Action Month. The May series consisted of three webinars, and these topics
were as follows:

“Poverty & Domestic Violence” by Amra Marshall, Program
Coordinator of SC Coalition Against
Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (SCCADVASA)

“Poverty & Crime! Prison Reentry: Life Outside of the Walls!” by
Nena Walker-Staley, Former
Deputy Director of SC Department of Corrections (SCDC)
As requested by popular demand of the network, SCACAP will continue poverty webinars in its
Poverty Webinar Summer Series. These webinars will now be held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of
each month to allow attendees to hear from experts and community members across the state to
discuss different topics and the impact of poverty in the communities.
The June series consisted of two webinars, and these topics were as follows:
